Parents who have not yet registered their children for school are being encouraged to do so next week.
$ M7 u" Y! s- H$ X$ gParents of children who'll be attending kindergarten at the Peel District School Board in the fall can register children for school from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2 at their neighbourhood school. Parents of high school students who need to register their teens are asked to call the school for registration details.
+ A2 g$ _! l9 }6 M" F' Z: CParents must provide proof of age, proof of address in Peel and the child’s immunization and education records. In some cases, immigration documents may be needed.
; P7 Q: D* D$ F0 D# Z& ?Acceptable registration documents are:% V; h* o- _8 c6 W3 b7 g8 S
• birth certificate, birth registration card or passport for proof of age+ \( D" U& ]$ R9 z$ H& t
• purchase agreement, utility bills, bank statement or government-issued forms for proof of address( x8 [* t. _/ {. Q- q
• yellow card or record from last country of residence, or Peel health form for immunization proof+ {7 U' ]9 V3 c0 j+ H2 F* m
• citizenship documentation, permanent resident card, or record of landing (IMM5292) for immigration status
% z7 S! t h6 h/ m" @• recent report cards and/or school leaving certificate (secondary students only) for education records# D' N( v- R- R. `7 U: U% N- g7 G
For general inquiries about immunization, the immunization schedule or to determine if a child’s record is up-to-date, parents can call Health Line Peel at 905-799-7700. An exemption form can be obtained if a child has not been immunized for medical reasons or because of a conflict of religion or conscience.$ |9 y" G# x3 F2 |. j& O1 K" \" \
