Parents who have not yet registered their children for school are being encouraged to do so next week.
% D; x3 c2 }& vParents of children who'll be attending kindergarten at the Peel District School Board in the fall can register children for school from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2 at their neighbourhood school. Parents of high school students who need to register their teens are asked to call the school for registration details.* Z7 I! s3 \' J9 s, R% x( w5 z8 }
Parents must provide proof of age, proof of address in Peel and the child’s immunization and education records. In some cases, immigration documents may be needed.
7 r8 k6 S1 o! Z+ q: A" hAcceptable registration documents are:: ]. |. g" N+ J# V% ~
• birth certificate, birth registration card or passport for proof of age
; Q9 n2 A" `4 X6 f2 M3 [: P" R• purchase agreement, utility bills, bank statement or government-issued forms for proof of address
$ B2 l$ _6 w- N! n3 g0 D• yellow card or record from last country of residence, or Peel health form for immunization proof' C, v- R4 R* u+ D
• citizenship documentation, permanent resident card, or record of landing (IMM5292) for immigration status5 |1 L2 k! _- m
• recent report cards and/or school leaving certificate (secondary students only) for education records7 t! s! C4 h0 u
For general inquiries about immunization, the immunization schedule or to determine if a child’s record is up-to-date, parents can call Health Line Peel at 905-799-7700. An exemption form can be obtained if a child has not been immunized for medical reasons or because of a conflict of religion or conscience.# L( N4 K/ j4 [) c
To find out which school their child is supposed to attend, parents can call 905-890-1010, ext. 2212. $ ]6 H: G) W- @2 f/ \/ M3 S
