Chinese mainland reports 3,867 new local COVID-19 cases on Friday

(ECNS) -- Chinese mainland reported 3,867 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 20,813 asymptomatic cases on Friday, according to information released by the National Health Commission (NHC) on its official website on Saturday.

East China's Shanghai reported 3,590 confirmed cases and 19,923 local asymptomatic carriers.

As of Thursday, the city had reported more than 300,000 locally infected cases in total.   

Shanghai officials said at a press conference on Friday that the city adheres to the dynamic zero-COVID strategy and would improve care for homeless people facing difficulties and cooperate with social assistance agencies to keep them safe.
